Cookies are stored, according to user preferences, by the single browser on the specific used device (computer, tablet, smartphone). When referring to cookies in this document, similar technologies used to collect information on user behavior and use of services, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, are considered to be included in the definition. Later in this document will refer to cookies and similar technologies all by simply using the word “cookie”.

2. Types of cookies

These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow monitoring the system and improving its performances and usability. The deactivation of these cookies can be performed without any loss of functionality. The most common use is that of the social plug-ins, aimed at sharing the contents on social networks (such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn). The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties. Management of information collected by "third parties" is regulated by the related information, to which please refer to.
