History
The Monte was founded in Cagliari in 1664 by the will of Captain Giambattista Perez. However, the institute was probably short-lived and was only reopened in the early eighties of the eighteenth century. In 1852, the management of the Monte passed to the local Congregazione di Carità. In the second half of the nineteenth century the institute was threatened with closure due to embezzlement. In 1927, the Monte obtained again its administrative autonomy. In serious financial difficulties, in 1931 it was absorbed by Cassa di Risparmio del Banco di Napoli.
