History
Foundation date of the Monte is not certain; placed by academics between 1460 and 1465. The first news attesting its existence is a 1466 testamentary legacy. The founder appears to have been Observant Franciscan priest Domenico da Gubbio, guardian of Convento di Santa Maria delle Grazie di Colforcella, who started the activity thanks to the alms collected during the Lenten preaching. From 1504, loan of money coupled with loan of wheat. Until 1620, the administration remained to the fathers of Santa Maria delle Grazie, and then to the Comune. In 1868, it went under the local Congregazione di Carità and, in 1937, it went under the Ente Comunale di Assistenza (E.C.A.). By Ministerial Decree of December 31st, 1951, the institution was revoked the authorization to exercise credit and sanctioned its liquidation.
