History
He Monte was founded in 1512, following the preaching of the Servite friar Marino of the convent of Santa Maria Fontana beyond the Adda, promoted by the confraternity of Schola dell'Incoronata, which also took over its management. The confraternity was suppressed during the French occupation, in 1810, and, on the return of the Austrians, the Monte was entrusted to the management of the Istituto Elemosiniero. From 1862, then, it went under the administration of the local Congregazione di Carità, which in 1926 decided upon its termination, devolving its capital to the religious charity “Asili di Infanzia Povera“.
