History
Founded in June, 1544, by resolution of the city council; in its first years, the institute carried out functions of Monte Frumentario (just wheat loan). In the seventies of the sixteenth century, the Monte entered a crisis that culminated in its closure, in 1628. It was refounded in 1693 and this time, starting from the 1768 chapters, wheat loan was also paired with monetary loan. In the Napoleonic period, however, the Monte ceased its activity again, which had to be resumed during the nineteenth century. By Regio Decreto dated December 5th, 1941, the institution was incorporated into Monti riuniti di Brescia.
