History
The Monte was founded by the Duke of Lorraine Charles IV in 1640. After more than one hundred and fifty years of uninterrupted activity, the institute was closed in 1792. It resumed its activity in 1834. In 1918 it was transformed into Crédit municipal, continuing its activity as pawnbroking, which will remain the sole after 1999.
