History
The exact date of foundation of the Monte is not known. 1545 is the oldest date that can be found in the documentation. The institute was administered - and therefore also presumably founded - by the Comune, through a “montista“. From 1807 to 1815 it was administered by the Napoleonic Congregazione di Carità and, later, by the Committee of the former Napoleonic Congregazione di Carità. From 1863 the management went to Congregazione di Carità, which ran it until 1927, when the patrimony of the institute was devolved to Ospedale degli Infermi (Hospital).
