History
The Monte was established following the Lenten preaching of Observant Franciscan priest Marco da Montegallo. The institute was reformed by intervention of Mark's confrere, Blessed Bernardine of Feltre, in 1494. In 1873, the institute went under the administration of the local Congregazione di Carità. The Monte was acquired by Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona in 1996.

Internal organization
The administration of the Monte was initially entrusted to four conservators, later increased to six, and a treasurer.
